Alligare Triclopyr 4 is an oil-soluble herbicide that controls unwanted woody plants and perennial and annual broadleaf weeds. The active ingredient triclopyr is highly effective in controlling difficult weeds like Canada thistle, gallberry, salt cedar, and wax myrtle. It may be applied through ground or aerial applications. This powerful selective herbicide is specially formulated to easily dilute with water or to be used as an oil-water emulsion. It has less impact on grasses and can be used as foliar and basal treatments. Ideal for use on rangeland, forests, grass pastures, industrial manufacturing and storage sites, fence rows, rights-of-way, ornamental turf, non-crop areas around the farm, grazing areas and establishment, and maintenance of wildlife openings. Ideal for restoring pastures and a solution to seasonably dry wetlands. Compare to Garlon 4 or Remedy.

Use Precautions

  • Local conditions may affect the use of herbicides. Consult your local specialist for advice in selecting treatments from this label to best fit local conditions.
  • Avoid direct application to Christmas trees as conifer injury may result. When treating unwanted vegetation in Christmas tree plantations, use sprays directed away from conifers.
  • While Alligare Triclopyr 4 is formulated as a low volatile ester, the combination of spray contact with impervious surfaces (such as roads and rocks) and increasing ambient air temperatures may result in an increase in the volatility potential for this herbicide, increasing risk for off-target injury to sensitive crops such as grapes and tomatoes.
